At Lowerhouses, we believe that a healthy, balanced meal is key to helping children learn, grow, and thrive. We work in partnership with Kirklees Catering Services to provide nutritious, freshly prepared meals every day.

🐉 Meet Munch – Our Lunchtime Mascot! 

Say hello to Munch, our friendly purple dragon who helps make lunchtimes magical! Munch appears throughout the year to promote healthy eating, celebrate themed lunch days, and encourage children to try something new. He’s a big hit with pupils and adds a splash of fun to the dining hall.

🎉 Munch’s Themed Lunch Days

Throughout the year, children can enjoy Munch’s Themed Lunch Days—special menus designed around seasonal fun and global flavours. These days add excitement to lunchtimes and encourage children to explore new tastes in a friendly, festive atmosphere.

Themes may include:

  • 🍔 American Day – burgers, fries, and apple pie
  • 🧄 French Day – croissants, ratatouille, and crème brÃģlÊe
  • 🍛 Indian Day – curry, rice, naan, and mango lassi
  • 🍝 Italian Day – pasta, pizza, and gelato
  • 🎄 Christmas Dinner – roast turkey with all the trimmings
  • đŸŖ Easter Lunch – spring-inspired favourites
  • 🏖ī¸ Summer Picnic – wraps, fruit pots, and ice lollies

Munch helps introduce each theme and always brings a smile to the lunch queue!

All school meals can be paid for via ParentPay, our secure online payment system. If your child is eligible for free school meals, they will still have access to the full menu at no cost.

Please note that Lowerhouses is not a halal school. While we offer a variety of vegetarian and non-meat options daily, we do not provide halal-certified meals.
