This half term, our topic is β€œWhat a Wonderful World!” πŸŒπŸ’› We will be exploring the amazing places, people, animals and environments that make our world so special. Children will learn through geography, art, science and literacy activities linked to this exciting theme.

This half term we will be exploring stories, poems and non‑fiction texts linked to our topic What a Wonderful World πŸŒπŸ“š. Children will learn to:

  • write descriptive sentences using expanded noun phrases ✍️

  • use coordinating and subordinating conjunctions (and, but, because, when)

  • apply a range of punctuation ❗❓

  • plan and write their own information pages about amazing places and animals

  • continue practising neat, joined handwriting ✏️

πŸ”€ Please continue practising weekly spellings at home β€” it makes a huge difference!

πŸ“š Reading

Daily reading is essential in Year 2 πŸ“˜πŸ’›. Please read with your child each evening and sign their Reading Log. When children reach the bottom of a page, they earn a reading certificate πŸŽ‰.

πŸ“• Little Wandle books must be returned every Monday morning.

In Maths we will be learning about:
