💬 PSHE
(Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education)
At Lowerhouses CE Primary School, we believe that PSHE is central to preparing children for life in modern Britain. Our curriculum supports pupils’ personal development, helping them to build resilience, emotional literacy, and the social skills needed to thrive both in and beyond school.
We follow the Jigsaw programme, which provides a whole‑school approach to PSHE. Lessons are structured around key themes such as Being Me in My World, Celebrating Difference, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships, and Changing Me. This ensures continuity and progression across all year groups.
To make progression clear and accessible, each PSHE topic page now includes a Learning Journey. These journeys show how knowledge and skills build step by step across year groups, helping children, parents, and staff see the pathway of personal development from EYFS through to Year 6.
By following these journeys, pupils can connect their learning across themes such as identity, diversity, wellbeing, and relationships. This structure supports confidence, empathy, and respect, ensuring children leave with the skills to make safe, healthy choices and to value themselves and others.
