The Library

The school has a comprehensive library containing more than 3000 books.  The reference section has books available for use in class to support topic work and cover subjects as diverse as ‘Romanichal Gypsies’, ‘How to Paint Like Picasso’ and ‘Tell Me Why Rain is Wet’.

The fiction section has over 1500 books ranging from those that are suitable for parents to read to younger children, early readers and shorter stories and more challenging books for our confident readers.  Even reluctant readers can find something that interests them and fires their imagination.

Each class has a time slot during the week and the children are encouraged to borrow books on a regular basis.  During this time they can also sit and share books and will often be heard recommending a book that they have particularly enjoyed.

The library is constantly being updated and new books are added, both to the reference and fiction sections, on a regular basis to keep the selection of books new and interesting.
