Welcome to Year 6
Miss Field Class Teacher |
Mrs Kenworthy ETA |
We are Violet class!
Our teacher is Miss Field and our teaching assistant is Mrs Kenworthy. On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, we have Mr Stockhill teaching us.
Throughout the course of the year, we are encouraged to develop our responsibility and become confident independent learners, by undertaking roles and responsibilities in the classroom and around the school.
We enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide range of creative activities. Our topics are;
Groovy Greeks (Autumn 1)
Land of the Free, Home of the Brave (Autumn 2)
To Infinity and Beyond! (Spring 1)
Terrific Mesolithic (Spring 2)
Extreme Environments, Extreme Creatures (Summer 1)
Merry Monarchs (Summer 2)
What do Year 6 children need and when?
PE lessons take place on Thursday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their outdoor PE kit on these days and jewellery is not worn.
Children should bring their home learning book (with their login details) everyday. We recommend parents take copies (or photographs) of login details.
Children are allowed to borrow library books for two weeks. Please make sure your child returns their book on time so that it can be renewed or exchanged.
Class reading books should be taken home and returned to school on a daily basis so that children can practice their reading both at school and at home.
Reading Logs should be signed once a week by an adult.
