Welcome to Year 6

Miss Field

Class Teacher

Mrs Kenworthy

ETA

We are Violet class!

Our teacher is Miss Field and our teaching assistant is Mrs. Kenworthy. Miss Griffiths teaches us for maths and Mr. Stockhill and Mrs. Robson also teach us too!

Throughout the course of the year, we are encouraged to develop our responsibility and become confident independent learners, by undertaking roles and responsibilities in the classroom and around the school.

We enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide range of creative activities. Our topics are;

Curry and Spice and All Things Nice  (Autumn 1)

Visionary Victorians (Autumn 2)

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (Spring 1)

Exciting Explorers (Spring 2)

Invaders and Settlers (Summer 1)

All the World's a Stage (Summer 2)

What do Year 6 children need and when?

PE lessons take place on Thursday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their outdoor PE kit on these days and jewellery is not worn.

Children should bring their reading log and reading book everyday. Every child has been provided with a copy of their login details and Seesaw code to keep at home. It is important that parents make copies (or take photographs) of login details to avoid any delay in learning, should the login card be misplaced.

Children are allowed to borrow library books for two weeks. Please make sure your child returns their book on time so that it can be renewed or exchanged. We have a fantastic range of books in our library and children are welcome to borrow from the fiction and non-fiction sections.

Class reading books should be taken home and returned to school on a daily basis so that children can practice their reading both at school and at home.

Reading Logs should be signed once a week by an adult.

Thank you.
