Welcome to Year 4
Learning Mentor & ETA
Welcome to Year 4.
A new academic year and a new class for your child. It can sometimes be difficult for children to settle into new classes with new routines and teachers. We hope to make this as easy as possible for your child. If you have any worries, concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
This half term is a history based unit in which we will be focusing on the Vikings and Anglo Saxons. We encourage the children to find out extra things about our topic through any research or reading at home as this helps broaden and deepen their understanding.
A topic letter has already been sent out electronically but you will find a copy of it on this page outlining the other subjects your child will be covering this half-term.
Along with myself, the children will be supported by Mrs Medley-Hill, Mrs Goldthorpe and Miss Briggs.
PE takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday this half-term. Your child will need both an indoor and outdoor PE kit.
Homework includes daily reading; learning the times tables to 12 x 12 by heart; and weekly spellings.
We would appreciate your help by listening to your child read and making sure their Reading Log is signed each day. Regular reading at home will hugely improve your child's reading skills.
